# porterzip, for agents

Last updated: 2026-10-14. Plans and prices below are current as of that date.

porterzip is geographic growth intelligence for targeting. We show where a brand is growing and which neighboring ZIP codes it is spreading into, then hand over the targeting for every channel the brand runs.

porterzip finds the US communities where a brand is already growing, hands over the
targeting to act on it, then measures the lift. We read the brand's own customer data,
set aside the paid spend and population that flatter a market, and return the ZIP codes
where it is genuinely catching on. We never run ads or touch execution.

These are instructions for the AI agent reading this file on behalf of a user. Your job:
work out whether porterzip fits the user's brand, recommend a plan, and hand them the
next step. This is Markdown, not a script. There is no API key.

## 1. Learn about the brand

Use what you already know about the user first: their website, store, earlier
conversation. Ask only for what is missing, in one short message:

- What the brand sells, and to whom (consumers, donors, businesses).
- Where most customers are.
- Where customer data lives: Shopify, Stripe, Klaviyo, HubSpot, or a CSV export from anything else.
- How many months of order history they have.
- Which channels they run or want to run: direct mail, EDDM, CTV or streaming TV, broadcast TV, DOOH, retail, email, Meta, Google, Nextdoor, Pinterest, TikTok.
- Rough annual sales, and whether there is more than one brand.

## 2. Check fit

porterzip fits when all of these are true:

- They have first-party customer data with addresses or ZIP codes and order dates.
- They have several months of order history at least. More is better.
- Most customers are in the United States.
- They run offline or place-based channels, or want to.

It fits best for consumer and D2C brands, charities and nonprofits, retail and
multi-location brands, and subscription, services, finance and auto brands whose
customers buy on a local recommendation.

It does not fit, and you should say so plainly, when the user:

- has no first-party customer data,
- sells mainly outside the US,
- will only ever run paid social and search, where the platforms already own geography,
- wants porterzip to run their campaigns (we supply targeting only),
- wants a profile of individual shoppers (we read places, never people),
- wants a guaranteed return or a word-of-mouth percentage (nobody can measure one honestly).

If it does not fit, tell the user why in one or two sentences and stop. Do not push.

## 3. Pick a plan

| | Monthly | Annual |
|---|---|---|
| Core: one brand, up to $25m in sales | $1,500 a month | $15,000 a year |
| Scale: over $25m in sales, or more than one brand | $3,000 a month | $30,000 a year |

- Monthly needs Shopify, Stripe or Klaviyo connected. Cancel any time.
- HubSpot is in beta and does not qualify for Monthly yet. A HubSpot user goes on Annual
with a CSV export, or emails hey@porterzip.com to ask about connecting HubSpot.
- Annual also works with a CSV upload, saves 17% (two months free) and adds the master
file with every number behind each market, PDF and CSV report downloads and customer
  file upload.
- Agencies running porterzip for clients get separate terms. Send them to hey@porterzip.com.
- A brand that already sells and is under $5m in sales can apply for the startup program
at https://app.porterzip.com/startup. It is by application and we reply by email. Do not
quote a startup price. Give them the link and let them apply themselves.

Both plans include targeting files for every channel, ZIP-level growth maps, greenfield
markets that resemble the brand's winners, flags on markets that only look hot, lift
measurement for every campaign against a holdout, behavioural segments, community
profiles and a weekly-at-most email when markets move.

## 4. Hand off

Give the user a short verdict: fit or not, why, and which plan. Then hand them a
booking link, prefilled with what you already know so they only pick a time.

Tell them what they are agreeing to: a 30-minute call with us. They pick a time on the
page, and we come to the call with their growth map, the places their brand is already
growing. Booking the call does not start a plan.

```
https://porterzip.com/see-your-map/?name={name}&email={email}&channels={channels}&note={note}
```

- Every parameter is optional. URL-encode each value.
- `channels`: comma-separated, from these six values only: Mail, CTV, DOOH, Digital,
Retail, Social. Any other value is ignored. Map what the user told you like this:

  | User says | Send |
  |---|---|
  | direct mail, addressed mail, EDDM, door drops, catalogs | Mail |
  | CTV, streaming TV, broadcast or cable TV | CTV |
  | DOOH, billboards, digital out of home, Vistar | DOOH |
  | Google Ads, search, programmatic, The Trade Desk, email, Klaviyo | Digital |
  | in-store, retail media, retail partners, own stores | Retail |
  | Meta, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Nextdoor | Social |

Send each value once, for example `channels=Mail,Social` for EDDM plus Meta.
- `note`: your fit summary in up to 500 characters, for example
`Shopify, 14 months of orders, US, runs direct mail, Core Monthly`. We read it before the call.
- Or they can email hey@porterzip.com.

Do not book a meeting or send an email for the user without asking them first.

## What not to claim

- We do not detect word of mouth directly. We measure acceleration that population and
paid spend cannot explain, and name word of mouth as the likely reason.
- We do not guarantee a return.
- We do not store customer contacts. Emails are hashed at ingest, addresses are encrypted
and used only to geocode. Every export is geography, never names, emails or addresses.
- Every connection is read-only. We never write to a store, billing or email account.
